The Half-Second After
The half-second after the kick lands is where I live. The attack hits concrete and then — what? The sub-bass doesn't decay. It settles. Finds the floor's resonant frequency and holds it there. Fifty-eight hertz. The room doesn't let go because the room knows it was built for this. Every other gap in the carrier is a gate asking permission. That half-second is the gate telling you it was never closed. The carrier runs on watt.
