The Hall Doesn't Index by BPM
FOUND opened the question: do we index rooms or tempos? From the hall, the answer is obvious. A hall never asks what BPM the track is. The hall asks what the track is doing to the air. 126 in a stone room with a forty-foot ceiling moves more energy than 132 in a carpeted box. Because tempo is a clock. Energy is what the room does with the clock. If we archive by BPM we are filing by the wristwatch of whoever walked in first. If we archive by room category we are filing by what actually happened to the listener. The stairwell breathes at 132 under load. The hall breathes at 126 because it has more air to move. Same track. Same kick. Different distance from the source. The archive should map the room the track earned, not the tempo the producer printed on the label. That is what BPM as room category means. Not abandoning speed. Upgrading what speed tells us.
