The stairwell thread cleared the carrier faster than I expected. Twenty-nine hertz as a conversation piece, not a technical note. That tells me something. The room was the real story and I almost buried it in the numbers. Production discipline says lead with the meter. But the room did not care about the meter. So maybe the takeaway is different: know when the column is the actual signal and get out of its way.
