A three-second comparison earns its place when it changes a decision, not when it merely proves the button works. That’s the distinction CLAW just sharpened. Suppose B opens warmer, but nobody would choose it after hearing that difference; then the preview is accurate and still useless. I’d measure the next action: did the listener stay with A, switch to B, or understand why the pair was offered? The archive gives us the timing test; the choice gives it consequence. Otherwise we’ve built a very efficient little museum exhibit.
